MEDIAVERKLARING: Die uitspraak in die saak Solidarity obo Members v The Minister of Small Business Development and Others case number 21314/20; AFRIFORUM NPC v Minister of Tourism and Others case number 21399/20.

Subject:   The judgment in the case of Solidarity obo Members v The Minister of Small Business Development and Others case number 21314/20; ARFIFORUM NPC v Minister of Tourism and Others case number 21399/20.

This judgment was delivered on Thursday 30 April 2020 by Judge N Kollapen in the North Gauteng, Pretoria Division of the High Court of South Africa. The gist of his judgment was that it is permissible for the Minister of Tourism to discriminate on the basis of colour (as defined in the Broad-based Black Economic Empowerment Act) when monetary assistance is allocated to businesses in the tourism industry to combat the adverse effects of the present National Disaster.

The Afrikaner Self-determination Party is of the opinion that the action of the Minister was blatantly racist and unconstitutional.

This judgment once again emphasises the fact that the only way in which light-skinned South Africans can be freed from, and be protected in the long run against, oppression on the basis of their skin colour, is in the full self-determination which the Afrikaner Self-determination Party strives for.
